Far far away,
in a land where cats can't play,
live the Caerphilly mice,
who like to dance, sing, and pray.

Humans! Mice! And releuctantly, cats...
Hello and welcome to St. Nibble's blog. I am Ella McCheddar, one of the famous Caerphillian Mice, who found their home in Wensleydale, hundreds of years ago. When we first arrived in Yorkshire life wasn't easy... we found that there were lots of cats, and everywhere was quiet. Now, don't be decieved, mice do like peaceful places... but we also like cheese. Something we quickly learnt was that we needed to be near humans to be near cheese, and so we settled in our small village called Ambert (near Hawes), knowing that we could find both in abundance.
Since then times have been happier! Despite the death of poor Saint Nibble, we have settled nicely and cheese stocks are at an all time high. We often are able to collect pieces of Wensleydale Cheese that tourists in Hawes have dropped (though we don't manage to get into the factory). Caerphilly mice are very sensible, and we have since sold this cheese to mice all over the world... and the proceeds from our fundraising helped us build St. Nibble's Church.
Our little congregation at St. Nibble's is very special; it is a loving, warm Christian community where many mice live, grow, and face the trials of daily life. Now we have decided to let you humans, and your cats, see just how special our world is... and you can do that in many ways. You can follow us on Twitter or subscribe to this blog. We also hope to build a facebook page soon.
By following the news and stories of life in Ambert, we hope we can touch your world a little. We find it so hard to tell you the Good News when we are caught in Mouse Traps or being chased by cats... so we hope this form is a bit easier for you (and for us, safer!)
God bless you and squeek you,
Ella xxx
